S.E.E.D. or Self-Empowerment Enhancement Dynamics is a process developed by Rev. Serena Lumiere and Charles P. Mignosa.
In 1988, Serena Lumiere compiled much of the information she'd been collecting and the ideas she'd developed from her own experience and observation about human development and created a trans-personal development process called "Self-Empowerment Enhancement Dynamics" (S.E.E.D.). The process was further developed and expanded with the assistance of Chuck Mignosa, creator and developer of the PsychoFusion concept.
S.E.E.D. is based on the nature of the universe. It has its foundations in the mysticism of the ancients and therefore many will find parallels between the foundation of S.E.E.D. and such philosophies as ZEN, the TAO, Tibetan Mysticism, the Bhagavad-Gita, the Koran, the Native American Indian traditions, and even the Old and New Testaments of the Bible.
We come into this life as loving, accepting, non-judgmental beings of light energy. We learn from parents, who learned from their parents about anger, judgment, self-deprecation, and guilt. We learn well and tend to pass this information on to our children and others in our lives unless we discover the concepts taught in the S.E.E.D. process:
Self-empowerment - not self-deprecation Acceptance - not judgment Unconditional love - not conditional love Forgiveness - not resentment Responsibility - not guilt
In order to get beyond this problem, consider going back to the ancient mysticism of the Tao and notice that it is much like Einstein's theory of relativity. The Tao says that one should seek only to be one with nature, to accept that which is and allow nature to take its course.
Water is the most powerful element of the universe. It does not seek to impose itself on anything else. It freely takes the shape of the container it is placed into. It always seeks only its base level and never tries to go against nature. And yet, it is water that has had the most influence on the physical aspects of the planet, causing erosion of our mountains and creating great canyons and valleys. It is water that produces the great floods, typhoons, hurricanes and oceans of the world. Water comes from the attitude of flowing acceptance.
Taking this attitude and looking at nature again from this paradigm of acknowledging "what is" about something we might look at the universe totally differently.
Many of us grew up with the idea that the seed of an apple was somehow a smaller part of... perhaps even an inferior part of... an apple tree. It was one of the parts that were discarded when eating an apple or making an apple pie.
Later, our paradigm shifted when we realized that the seed holds the tree... completely. And that each cell of the apple... in the seed, in the tree, in the leaves, and in the meat of the fruit... all of it, has the map of the apple tree. The POTENTIAL for the apple tree is complete in the seed, and in time, the seed becomes the tree.
Just as the seed of an apple has the potential for an apple tree that is unrealized, so do we have the seed of ourselves in our most magnificent potential. The S.E.E.D. process was developed to assist us in discovering that potential and bringing it into reality.
It is in this paradigm of observing and saying "what is so about", without interpretation or judgment, that S.E.E.D. began. S.E.E.D. proposes that nature does what it does naturally because it is its nature to do it. Therefore a flowering plant flowers, an apple tree apples a peopling planet peoples, and we become all we can be.
S.E.E.D. is an acronym for a process called "Self-Empowerment Enhancement Dynamics". It's significant in the fact that like a seed, which can be defined as a beginning, this process is a beginning... the S.E.E.D. of Personal Power. It presents opportunity for new ideas and new realities.
S.E.E.D. can produce: germination growth development manifestation
It's called "self-empowerment" because it's much more than self-improvement, self-esteem, self-motivation, etc.; it's all of them and more. It's called "enhancement" because it enhances and expands what's already there. We're always self-empowered, even when we choose to give control to someone else. Dynamics indicates that it's an action-oriented process... it's an adventurous experience... not a passive activity.
The S.E.E.D. process is an "Action/Results" oriented experience, which focuses on balance; including the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual.
S.E.E.D. is about being self-full. It's NOT about being selfish. Self-full is the process of accepting and loving ourselves, and in the process learning to share the best of who we are with those in our life. Selfish is the process of taking or drawing from others to fulfill ourselves, and in the process, ignoring and excluding others.
SELF - The identity, character or essential qualities of any person or thing. One's own person as distinct from all others. The S.E.E.D. process teaches us to be self-full. It defines and demonstrates the following concepts: self-empowerment enslavement vs. manifesting self being controlled/controlling/being in control EMPOWERMENT - To give ability to; enable; permit. The S.E.E.D. process teaches that we ARE empowered. We learn to recognize and acknowledge our own empowerment as well as to empower others. ENHANCEMENT - To make greater, as in value, attractiveness, etc. Heighten, improve, augment. To increase, as in value. Intensify. The S.E.E.D. process takes we a step beyond our self-empowerment to enhance that empowerment in a positive and vital way. It teaches us to create our life the way we want it. DYNAMICS - The ability to translate solutions into action. Relating to energy or physical force in motion. Energetic, vigorous, forceful. Relating to or tending toward change or productive activity. Force producing motion or change. The S.E.E.D. process looks at the constantly moving and changing process of self-empowerment and self-esteem, especially as it relates to interpersonal communication.
To begin the S.E.E.D. process we initiate our awareness. This process includes discovering, exploring and manifesting our selves, our abilities, and our own best destiny.
The basic premise for S.E.E.D. is:
You are perfect EXACTLY the way you are. You do not need to change. No one needs to change. There is nothing that you need to know There is nothing that you need to do There is nothing that you need to be Who you are transforms what you do and know and how you relate to the world. YOU ARE!
